The Eurasian Economic Commission imposes anti-dumping duties on seamless steel pipes imported from Malaysia and originating from China
On December 14th, the official website of the Eurasian Economic Commission reported that on December 13th, the Commission decided to impose a 19.15% anti-dumping duty on cold-rolled seamless steel pipes originating from Malaysia and originating from China.
In April 2013, the Eurasian Economic Commission imposed an anti-dumping duty of 19.15% on cold-rolled seamless steel pipes originating in China. The anti-dumping investigation conducted by the Eurasian Economic Commission showed that Malaysia does not produce cold-rolled seamless steel pipes. However, in 2016, Malaysia exported 1475.7 tons of cold-rolled seamless steel pipes to Eurasian Economic Union countries, accounting for 32.7% of the total imports of this product by the Union countries. The Eurasian Economic Commission therefore suspects that cold-formed seamless steel pipes originating from China are exported to Malaysia and then re exported to the markets of Eurasian Economic Union countries to evade anti-dumping duties. Therefore, in April 2017, the Eurasian Economic Commission conducted a review of anti-dumping investigations on cold-rolled seamless steel pipes produced in China and Malaysia.
